Falcao: I’ve often pictured myself scoring at a FIFA World Cup

While last December's Final Draw for the 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia&trade, was an exciting time for everyone involved, few players can have been as emotional watching it as Radamel Falcao, whose Colombia side were drawn in Group H alongside Poland, Senegal and Japan. The Colombian's keen anticipation is clear, given a serious knee injury ruled him out from tournament in 2014 in Brazil. Four years on, opportunity knocks again to the 31 year-old striker in the form of Russia 2018. It'd be wonderful to take part. I've fought and worked for this for so long&hellip, he told FIFA.com while his negative were still attempting to qualify.

For a player known as El Tigre, June 19, 2018 is already declared in the diary, Being the day Colombia kick off their Russia 2018 experience against Japan. That could be the day the front person realizes a long cherished dream. I envisioned Myself scoring in the World Cup. I could not tell you how often times, but it is a great deal, he informs us with a laugh. As he eagerly counts the days until then, Falcao agreed to share a few his own memories of the World Cup from past tournaments. His earliest memory. Without the slightest hesitation, the striker says: Freddy Rincon's goal against Germany in Italy 1990.

I must have been &hellip, 4 years old. , Falcao laughs at the memory and clarifies the way that it stuck with him from this kind of an early age. Everybody in Colombia celebrated it so I've a fleeting memory of it. In fact, I think that I remember more obviously all the following times I saw this aim than the true moment it was scored.

The following World Cup wasn't until 94, therefore we grew up seeing that goal over and over again. We practically lived on it to get all those 4 years! For Falcao and all of Colombia, Rincon's attack again the Mannschaft in 1990 was the objective. Like El Pibe Carlos Valderrama clarifies in the video below, it was so important, because it's not only permitted Los Cafeteros to score 1-1 with eventual world champions, but in addition, it allowed them to advance beyond the group stage for the very first time in their history.
